All of the books above cite a lot of traditional
artists/photographers/philosophers and psycologists who have studied
camouflage. camouflage is in a way essential in all artworks (hiding,
directing attention, blending, figure-ground disruption)

the "teaching graphic design" book was my entry point into Behren's reseach because he has a lesson plan for a class he teaches in Iowa that involves interesting topics including camouflage.
